Punjabi University, Patiala

Punjabi University, established on the April 30th 1962 under the Punjabi University Act. This is the second university in the world to be named after a language.

Punjabi university has been awarded the status of five star by the NAAC, a statutory body of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Punjabi University has established the first ever overseas centre for teaching of Punjabi as a foreign language at Espanola, New Mexico.
